APPLICATIONS & BENEFITS

Plasma filtration for a medical indication.

Typical areas of use

The examples below describe uses of different medical apheresis methods. The medical team assesses which application can be offered within IUNEpherese and is appropriate for you.

  • Severe lipid disorders, particularly familial hypercholesterolaemia despite maximal drug therapy: selected lipoprotein apheresis or double-filtration methods.
  • Selected antibody-mediated diseases, such as Guillain–Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis or anti-GBM disease: therapeutic plasma exchange may be indicated.
  • Selected blood disorders, such as TTP or symptomatic hyperviscosity: condition-specific apheresis in specialist care.

Your practical benefits

  • A method matched to the diagnosis can remove particular lipoproteins or disease-related plasma components.
  • Clinical benefit depends on the condition, filtration method and treatment plan, not the device alone.
  • At IUNE, diagnosis, previous treatment and technical suitability are reviewed first.

Our medical team determines whether the programme is appropriate for you based on your symptoms, diagnosis, existing findings and previous treatment. Together, we discuss your personal goal, expected benefit and possible risks.

Medical sources

Plasma exchange, double filtration and lipoprotein apheresis are different methods; indications and study results are not interchangeable. The acute conditions listed require specialist care and do not constitute an offer of emergency treatment at IUNE. Clinical benefit for Long COVID, general environmental detoxification or rejuvenation is not similarly established.

Sources address the described assessments and individual procedures. They do not validate the complete IUNE package.

THE PROCEDURE

Understanding plasma filtration.

Therapeutic plasma filtration treats blood in an extracorporeal circuit. Plasma is separated from blood cells and filtered according to the chosen method. Components intended for return are reintroduced into the bloodstream.

Method guided by indication

The clinical question determines which filtration is selected and which components it aims to affect.

Preparation & monitoring

Pre-treatment assessment, vascular access and treatment are planned individually. The medical team provides care and monitoring.

AFERsmart at IUNE

The existing AFERsmart system forms part of the technical equipment. Its specific application is determined medically.

Support & additional applications

Personal support may involve a 4D Longevity Coach. PEMF before or cryotherapy after filtration is agreed only where individually appropriate.

Participation requires a medical treatment decision. Additional applications do not replace assessment of indication or necessary condition-specific care.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Your questions about IUNEpherese.

Is IUNEpherese suitable for everyone?

No. Suitability and expected benefit depend on indication, findings, medicines and individual risks. An enquiry is not a treatment commitment.

Is plasma filtration the same as an infusion?

No. Plasma filtration processes blood outside the body in a medical system. The procedure and monitoring differ from an infusion.

Which risks are discussed?

Depending on the method, these may include circulatory reactions, changes in clotting or electrolytes and vascular access risks. Your medical consultation addresses relevant risks and precautions.

How should I prepare?

You receive individual instructions. Tell us about all medicines and supplements. Change or stop prescribed medicines only on medical advice.
